According to critics, "Bohemian Rhapsody" will not rock you.
Before the release of the biopic Queen on Nov. 2, critics commented on the film starring Rami Malek with false teeth in the role of legendary Freddie Mercury. Consensus? It seems that Malek is hitting hard. The movie, however, does not do it.
Here is an overview of the critics who helped the film win a 53 percent assessment of rotten tomatoes at the time of publication:
Brian Truitt, of USA TODAY, presents the movie ★★ out of four: "Apart from a solid work by Rami Malek … and a few moments of real grandeur, the film is essentially a journey beyond the music" through the highs and the lows of the British iconoclastic rock band.
"Freddie Mercury (is) played with the magnetism and breathtaking physics of Rami Malek … (but) the asperities of Freddie Mercury's story could be alleviated in this narrative, indulgences and debauchery Sugar-prone, "writes Sheri Linden in a mixed opinion for the Hollywood Reporter.
Jesse Hassenger, AV Club writer, said in his article: "" Bohemian Rhapsody "is not a subtle movie, nor a very good movie, but it goes through the biggest hits with a lot of energy. "

"It's not just fantasy, but in a great way, Malek achieves one of the most outstanding performances of the year," says Mara Reinstein of Us Weekly. "The film itself, however, will not make you stomp your feet and clap your hands in unbridled joy."
Owen Gleiberman writes in Variety that "Rami Malek, the 37-year-old US-Egyptian actor of" Mr. Robot ", plays the role of Freddie Mercury As Rami Malek is in the center, why" Bohemian Rhapsody "n & # Is not it a better movie? "
"Anyone can find me a movie to like," asks Johnny Oleksinski, a critic at the New York Post. "Rhapsody's has a shallow scenario, oversized performances and seems to have been shot in a sauna."
