In Egypt, many women are victims of sexual harassment on a daily basis.
A study published by UN Women in 2013 revealed that 99% of Egyptian women had been victims of sexual harassment, verbally or physically.
While the #MeToo campaign has gained ground around the world, Egyptian women have also begun to talk more openly about harassment and abuse – though in some cases it may cause them to stop believing, being blamed, even to suffer from other abuses.
Five women shared their stories with BBC Arabic.
