British police say they've identified the now-famous thief who's the spitting image of "Friends" star David Schwimmer.

Lancashire police posted a surveillance of a man wanted to stealing from a Blackpool restaurant. Fans quickly noticed the suspicion of an uncanny resemblance to Schwimmer, who played dorky Ross Geller on the immensely popular '90s sitcom.

A police spokeswoman confirmed to the BBC that they believe they know who the suspect is, thanks to their popularity. They still need to track down.

"Could we be more excited about the CCTV appeal of a restaurant in Blackpool?" Lancashire police tweeted In a cheeky nod to the TV series' character Chandler Bing, played by Matthew Perry. "Most importantly, we're still very much in the spotlight. Huge thanks for sharing it with your friends. "

Schwimmer himself got in on the fun Wednesday with an Instagram video showing himself shuffling through a bodega with a case of beer, much like his British doppelganger.

"Officers, I swear it was not me," the actor wrote. "As you can see, I was in New York. To the Blackpool Police hardworking, good luck with the investigation. "
