The month on the recruitment trail continued for the Georgia Bulldogs on Thursday when John Emery, the country's No. 1 number one, announced that he was reopening his recruitment.
Emery's disengagement is the fourth major loss the Bulldogs have suffered this month and are among the top 10 of 2019 recruits.
On October 2, five-star receiver Jadon Haselwood gave up his promise to the SEC champion just days before cornerback Jalen Perry and linebacker JD Bertrand, both four-star, also disengaged. .
Emery, a versatile 5-foot-11, 202-pound talent from Destrehan High in Louisiana, enlisted in Georgia in July at the expense of the Mississippi, LSU and Florida states. The selection of the Under Armor All-America game was on the nearby LSU campus earlier this month for the Bulldogs' 36-16 Tigers win.
LSU is now considered Emery's pioneer, with other programs remaining in contention, including the state of Florida.

The news has not been all negative for Georgia this month, however, as coach Kirby Smart and his team have added one of the country's best security hopes, Lewis Cine.
Prior to Emery's disengagement, Georgia was boasting about the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the United States and now has 16 pledges, led by five-star defenseman Nolan Smith.
The Bulldogs have a number of options to get back into the 2019 category, including Trey Sanders, the No. 2 nationwide, and ESPN 300 prospects Noah Cain and Kenny McIntosh.
Georgia should sign at least 25 players in the 2019 class.
