A mountaineer nicknamed the "French Spider-Man" was charged with public nuisance after climbing one of London's tallest buildings.

Alain Robert, 56, was spotted Thursday in London's Heron Tower, also known as the Salesforce Tower, without safety equipment or rope.

A crowd of spectators gathered and the police set up a cordon to keep people and traffic away from the tower.

Robert is scheduled to appear later in the London City Court of First Instance.
