The new Walking Dead season is warming up and fans are dreading the release of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

However, the release of Ricks is not the only thing to do in the new season.

Star Angela Kang has promised that Season 9 would be very different from the one that preceded her and so far, she keeps her promises.

However, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is a character who has not yet been part of the mix.

He was locked by Rick after his terrible actions in previous seasons and the fact that he's still alive has created a break between the main characters in the series.

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reeds), Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and Michonne (Danai Gunrai) all believe that Negan should have been killed for his actions.

However, Rick felt that imprisonment was the best solution because his murder could provoke another riot.

Although, it seems, staying isolated could prove too difficult for Negan.

"I think what has been interesting this year for me is that we are seeing Negan vulnerable," Morgan told GameSpot.

"I think Negan was locked up for a spell, I do not think anyone can interact with him except perhaps Rick."

Morgan continued, "I think Negan probably lives for that."

"I think that's all he's thinking about:" Please, Rick, come down here. "So, I think it's at that point that he's getting a little bravado."

Morgan then teased that Negan might have trouble staying sane while he was imprisoned.

"I think he's going crazy, it's really what I think is happening," the actor revealed.

"I think the four walls have closed on him, so he's fighting to keep a sense of common sense, it's not going well."

Negan will continue to have these one-on-one conversations with Rick, and fans will have the opportunity to see the character from a very different perspective during Season 9.

That said, he will have difficult times to deal with psychological problems and malnutrition, and there is a real lack of public performance.

"He has a habit of performing in front of a lot of people and organizing a show," Morgan said.

"I think [being] unable to do this has killed a part of him that is very important to his psyche.

"I think he's going through a lot of bullshit right now. I do not think he eats well. I do not think he's starting to talk to people. These are important things for Negan, "he concluded.

Season 9 of Walking Dead continues next Sunday on AMC and next Monday at 21:00 on FOX in the UK. Seasons 1-8 are available in streaming on NOW TV.
