NEW YORK – Megyn Kelly remains absent from her morning NBC show while the company has acknowledged in the "Today" show that her future with the network was uncertain.
A report on Friday on the "Today" show quoted a source close to the situation, saying that NBC News and Kelly were discussing the departure of the network anchor. According to another source who was not allowed to speak publicly, Kelly's representatives are expected to meet the company's management on Friday and it seems "extremely unlikely" that she will stay.
On Friday, the channel aired a rehearsal of "Megyn Kelly Today", just as it did on Thursday, following this week's controversy over its comments on Blackface.
Earlier, during her morning show, the 47-year-old news anchor had stated that it was acceptable to dress in blackface when she was small, provided you imitated a character. She wondered why it was considered racist when a character from "The Real Housewives of New York" darkened her skin for a Diana Ross costume.

Following a negative social media reaction, Kelly wrote in an email to her colleagues at NBC News that she had understood that such behavior was bad, that the history of blackface in the culture was horrible.
