HARTFORD – The State Department of Health announced that a second person from Connecticut had died of flu this season.
The person was aged 50 to 64, state officials said. The sex of the victim, nor the city where he lived, was not published.
The first Connecticut flu death this season was reported last week. This patient was over 65, said the DPH. The location of this victim was not revealed either.
A total of 46 confirmed cases of influenza have been reported in Connecticut since August 26th. A total of 23 people were hospitalized for the flu, according to the health department.
Of the 23, 15 were associated with type A (unspecified subtype), 4 with influenza A (H3N2), and 4 with influenza B viruses.
