The National Meteorological Service announced that a night ship in Massachusetts on Saturday morning would result in high winds, heavy rains and mild coastal flooding.
Western Massachusetts will likely see 0.5 to 1 inch of rain, the center of Massachusetts could reach 1 to 1.5 inches, and eastern Massachusetts 1.5 to 2 inches or even more. 3 inches in some areas, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
At 0715, an observer from the National Weather Service in Rowe reported that 0.2 inches of snow was low and that the temperature was about 30 degrees, the agency said.
The National Weather Service said that the interior highlands of Massachusetts could see about an inch of snow or sleet Saturday morning before rainfall turns into rain.
Maximum wind gusts will be around 30 miles per hour in western and central Massachusetts, the National Weather Service reported, while Boston could see gusts of up to 48 miles per hour.
In Cape Cod, wind gusts could reach more than 60 km / h, depending on weather forecasts.
Strong winds may continue in the evening.
Minor coastal flooding could be a problem early in the afternoon, said the National Meteorological Service.
