Northwestern punishes Wisconsin after a disastrous double overflow

Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook was away from a concussion, substitute Jack Coan made his debut for the first time this season for the Badgers on Saturday. Unfortunately for the second quarter, things could have gone better.

At the start of the fourth quarter when Northwestern had a 24-10 lead, Coan got the ball on the first and 10th on the Wisconsin eight-yard line and had a bit of trouble with the slam. He felt it not once but twice in a few seconds and only recovered it the first time.

At first, it looks like Coan was trying to pass the ball, and things went bad. But he recovered the ball and at least moved away from the end zone to avoid safety. But a little comical, as he tried to bring the ball back to the field, he did not even get to the line of scrimmage before fumbling again.

Northwestern finally recovered the ball and halfback Isaiah Bowser finally scored a two-yard touchdown run to give the Wildcats a 31-10 lead while only 13 minutes remained in the fourth quarter.

Northwest beat Wisconsin, 31-17.
