CLEVELAND – Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is out for the second straight game because of a left foot injury.
Cleveland (0-5) hosts the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Love did not participate in Wednesday's loss to Detroit and missed three of the Cavaliers' four exhibition games because of the injury.
The Cavaliers' coach, Tyronn Lue, said Love was trying to overcome the pain and wanted to stay on the ground because his team was struggling.
The love is on average 19 points and 13.5 rebounds – the two peaks of the team – but draws 32% of the field. The star five times signed a four-year $ 120 million contract extension in July.
Sam Dekker started the power striker on Saturday after Channing Frye was in Love's place against Detroit.
Cleveland struggled to adjust without LeBron James after a four-game deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Cavaliers lost three games on the road and were eliminated at home against Atlanta and Brooklyn.
