10 zones of signal No. 2 while "Rosita" approaches Luzon

MANILA, Philippines – Ten zones of Luzon were placed under signal No. 2 on Monday morning as typhoon Rosita (international name: Yutu) headed for the mainland of the Philippines.
"Rosita" will threaten northern and central Luzon with strong to very strong winds and moderate to heavy rains, the state's meteorological bureau, PAGASA, said.
The typhoon is expected to hit the region of Isabela-Aurora on Tuesday.
Tropical cyclone warning signs have been issued in the following areas:
Signal No. 2 (61 to 120 kilometers per hour expected within 24 hours)

- Polillo Island
- Kalinga
- Mt. Province
- Ifugao
- Benguet
- Nueva Vizcaya
Signal No. 1 (30 to 60 km / h expected in 36 hours)

Residents in areas below Signal # 2 will be exposed to the weather, while those in areas under Signal # 1 will be exposed to occasional rain and gusty winds.
PAGASA warned that a storm surge is possible on the coastal areas of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Cagayan, Isabela and Aurora.
It is also advisable for fishermen and small vessels not to venture over the coast from areas with TCWS and the south east coast of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
At 7:00, Rosita's eye was sighted 510 km east of the town of Tuguegarao, Cagayan or 475 km northeast of Casiguran, Aurora.
It has sustained maximum winds of 170 km / h near the center and bursts of up to 210 km / h.
By moving west southwest at 20 km / h, Rosita is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday.
