LeBron James posted a tweet late Sunday night that, if the stars lined up, could serve as a flash point to one of the greatest duels most anticipated in modern history: one against one with Michael Jordan.
Or maybe not. But James sarcastic response to a tweeted promotional video of NBC Sports featuring Jordan teasing about the debate resolution on GOAT – about Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers – should do a lot to make the pot thrilling.
I'M READY!!!! Oh my god, I thought, maybe you were, uh, do not pay attention to my regular program schedule https://t.co/4JmeesffNu

The joke took place just one day after James continued to climb the career scorers, surpassing Dirk Nowitzki for sixth place in the Los Angeles Lakers defeat by San Antonio Spurs. Nowitzki told Tim MacMahon of ESPN that James would end up being the top scorer of all time.
It was also James' 432nd career game with 30 points, which surpassed Kobe Bryant for fourth place on the list and evoked a figure that Jordan's fans knew well with a record of 35 points, bringing his total career at 31,202.
James has 32.292 points for Jordan in fourth place and could double this season.
But James would have a hard time catching Jordan in the career average – James raised his score to 27.2 after Saturday's game, against Jordan at 30.1 – and of course to the NBA titles, James holding three against six. James has the advantage in rebounds, at 7.4 against 6.2 per game, and the assistants, averaging 7.2 against 5.3 for Jordan.
Dave McMenamin's ESPN information was used in this report.
