Last week tonight with John Oliver aired a new episode on HBO Sunday night and host John Oliver made tough comments about WWE and decided to continue the next Jewel of the crown event in Saudi Arabia.
Oliver had already discussed the 10-year trade agreement between WWE and Saudi Arabia's Saudi sports general on Oct. 14, but he had a follow-up segment Sunday after WWE officials announced Thursday that they would hold the event from Nov. 2 in Riyadh as planned. despite the alleged killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi by Saudi agents in early October.

Oliver began by recapitulating the agreement as well as the Greatest Royal Rumble from April, with Titus O's famous slip Neil under the ring when he accidentally stumbled during the main event.
"Listen, I just do not think the relationship between WWE and Saudi Arabia is better summed up than a wrestler meeting Saudi princes before falling flat on him," joked Oliver.
He then turned his attention to Jewel of the crown, referring to topics such as the withdrawal of John Cena and members of the supporter base opposed to the agreement with the country as a whole. Oliver then played an excerpt from The Undertaker's promo at SmackDown 1000 where the majority of the crowd started booing once "The Deadman" mentioned Jewel of the crown.
"I think WWE itself just turned around," Oliver said. "Do you know how clear it is that something serious must be to convince fight fans to boo about a wrestling event at a wrestling event? It's the type reaction from the crowd that you would expect to hear if the WWE Championship title was suddenly won. "

Oliver then explained how WWE advertising for this event seemed "a little deaf" in light of recent controversy, citing an ad on Instagram that bore "DX" spray-painted on an urn with the caption "Respect is at the window to #WWECrownJewel. "
"It will not be easy for WWE to put a needle on it," Oliver said. "They continue this event despite the serious concerns of some of their own wrestlers and their own fans."
The sequence ended with a parodic hype video for the show, which mocked the wrestlers excluded from the event, the reported absence of Cena and the Brothers of Destruction using death in many of their promos.
Jewel of the crown is scheduled to start at 12 pm Eastern Standard Time on the WWE network on Friday.
