The White House holds its first press conference Monday since October 3, as the country mourns the loss of 11 worshipers murdered in a Jewish synagogue and is preparing for mid-term elections next week.
The briefing also takes place as the Pentagon prepares to send at least 5,000 troops to the southern border – the military will meet the people who will cross, the president said.
In the days leading up to next week's mid-term, the President faced a nation in times of crisis, after sending suspicious packages to prominent Democrats and CNNs, and after that. A man killed Saturday peaceful Jewish worshipers in a Pittsburgh synagogue.
The President – comforting in scripted speeches while continuing to attack opponents on Twitter – he himself asked questions to know if he was responding to his own call for the unification of the nation. The president has blamed the media for the "anger" that rages in the country.

"The Fake News Media, the real enemies of the people, must put an end to open and obvious hostility and report accurately and fairly on the news.This will greatly help to extinguish the flame …… anger and indignation, and we will be able to bring all parties together in peace and harmony, the false news must come to an end! "
