After only six weeks in New England, it seems that Josh Gordon has already found himself in the niche of Bill Belichick.

According to NFL.com, Gordon had trouble with the team This week, due to backlog problems, the team decided to discipline him by putting him on the bench for the first leg of the Patriots game on Monday night in Buffalo. Gordon should spend the first offensive gains on the bench and could miss the first quarter, depending on how many times the Patriots get the ball. Once the punishment is over, Gordon should return to play and play his usual number of snaps.

Regarding the problem that led to his punishment, Gordon was late at Gillette Stadium on Sunday when the Patriots were preparing to leave for Buffalo, according to the athletic.

Apparently, Gordon's transgression is not serious: he arrived late and soon realized that the Patriots would not be as patient as the Browns during Gordon's tumultuous career in Cleveland. The Browns kept Gordon even though he was suspended several times by the NFL.

On the other hand, you might argue that Gordon's delay is a big problem because everything he has with him seems like a big problem. Gordon's penchant for delay is in fact what cost him his job with the Browns. Cleveland finally decided to exchange Gordon far after his late arrival at a team meeting on September 15th. If it appears constantly late in New England, Belichick would probably have no problem cutting ties with Gordon, especially if the recipient was disinterested by the viewer.

Although Gordon has had trouble with the Patriots this week, he definitely seems to like things in New England.

"It's a great space and environment to work, focus and lock," Gordon said recently via ESPN.com. "It's a breeding ground for excellence, so you can not do anything other than get involved and help to be part of it, really."

Gordon took the attack on the Patriots very well. In just four games, the wide catcher caught 22 passes for 224 yards and one touchdown.
