YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK –
Forest rangers in Yosemite National Park have identified two people who died as a result of their fall from Taft Point.
According to National Park Service officials, Vishnu Viswanath, 29, and Meenakshi Moorthy, 30, died on October 24.
Both were Indian citizens and lived in the United States.

Officials said the two men had dropped about 800 feet in a steep terrain. The bodies were found the next afternoon by the Park Rangers, who had to use technical climbing and rappel techniques to get to the scene.
A helicopter from the California Highway Patrol was also called to ask for help.
The couple has an Instagram account on which he publishes photos of his trips to the United States. On an image, Moorthy sits on the edge of the Grand Canyon and, in the caption, mentions the danger of standing so close to the side to capture the image.
It is not yet known how the couple fell from Taft Point to Yosemite.
