NJ Transit and Amtrak operate the major passenger rail lines in the state.

After an hour delay in and out of Penn Station for Tuesday’s commute home, Wednesday morning’s commute has three canceled trains on three lines because of positive train control. PATH continues to run smoothly after some overnight delays.

Montclair-Boonton line
The Montclair-Boonton 6:42 a.m. train from Hoboken is canceled because of equipment availability. Commuters can take the 6:55 a.m. train from Hoboken and transfer to the 7:58 a.m. train from Newark Broad Street for Montclair-Boonton line service.
Northeast Corridor line
The Northeast Corridor 5:26 a.m. train from Jersey Avenue is canceled because of positive train control equipment availability. Commuters can take the 6:02 a.m. train from Jersey Avenue.
North Jersey Coast line
On or close to schedule.
Raritan Valley line
The Raritan Valley 5:07 a.m. train from Raritan is canceled because of positive train control equipment availability. Commuters can take the 5:49 a.m. train from Raritan.
Planned scheduled changes
Weekend Gladstone branch service and all Princeton Dinky rail service are suspended with alternate bus service because of positive train control installation.
Some trains have been temporarily discontinued or have changes of origin/destination for PTC installation. This impacts the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line, Morris & Essex, Montclair-Boonton and Main-Bergen-Port Jervis lines. Service is expected to be completely restored by mid-January 2019. All tickets and passes for travel in November, December and January will receive a 10 percent discount.
Through early 2019, all off-peak, one-seat Raritan Valley service will originate and terminate at Newark Penn Station to accommodate positive train control installation.
