It's not clear if quarterback C.J. Beathard will be healthy enough to play Thursday due to a right wrist injury. Either way, head coach Kyle Shanahan is coming closer to look at his options.
Beathard shows signs of regression
In the past two games, Beathard has taken a step back in his career as quarterback for the 49ers. He played very solid football in games against the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Chargers. He played decently in the first game against Arizona, although he had trouble with the turnarounds.
But how Beathard played against the Los Angeles Rams at home and last weekend against the Arizona Cardinals, he seems to struggle with his technique and pace.
I do not feel he anticipates as he should. The placement of the ball was not as good as in his first three starts. I believe that he is starting to feel pressure – the pressure of the pass and other pressures. As a starting quarterback to the NFL, you have many responsibilities to lead and lead the team.
In the first quarter against Arizona, they racked up 11 points. The 49ers game had a hard time getting started. Her great weapon, Marquise Goodwin, did not have many tests. Getting closer to a change

You must see what else you have in your lineup, especially with the direction the season is taking. Whether it's Nick Mullens or Tom Savage, head coach Kyle Shanahan should consider changing, unless Beathard shows the opposite, starting on Thursday against the Raiders.
Mullens is the substitute, so he would probably have his first chance. But Savage is a veteran and he had enough opportunity to become familiar with the system. He has already been in the system, so he has a basic understanding of it.
