WWE took a while to bring Hulk Hogan back

Hulk Hogan makes a shocking comeback to WWE after spending three years hosting the controversial Jewel Crown pay-per-view show in Saudi Arabia.

Big names like Daniel Bryan and John Cena refused to go after the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi Embassy in Turkey.

Despite the global outcry over the murder – and questions about the Saudi government's commitment – WWE has decided to rank the stars at Friday's event in Riyadh.

Bryan and Cena were eliminated from their matches with Crown Jewel after taking a stand on Khashoggi's death. But it is the legend of Hogan's return that will attract the most attention. His last appearance at WWE TV was in the summer of 2015.

He will be joined by Canadian sports journalist Renee Young, known for her work behind the microphone for WWE.

Many believe that Saudi Arabia's dubious record of women's rights makes it an inappropriate host, given that WWE is in favor of women's empowerment.

Meanwhile, Hogan told The Orlando Sentinel how excited he was to join WWE in Saudi Arabia.

"We are moving at a fast pace," Hogan said. "It's exciting to have this opportunity again after all those years I was there and where I left."
