Measles in the North of the State, DHEC Responds by Offering Free Vaccines | Caroline from the south

Spartanburg, S.C. (Fox Carolina) – The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is studying a recent case of measles in the north of the state, in Spartanburg County. Officials are now trying to prevent any future spread of the disease.

DHEC responds by proposing a vaccination center against measles, mumps and rubella that will be provided free of charge on 2 November. The Inman WIC Clinic is located at 6 S.Howard St, Inman, SC. The clinic will be open from 10:00 to 15:30.

No appointments are needed and the vaccines are free. Children under 16 years old must bring a parent or guardian.

Measles is particularly dangerous for children and it is recommended that children receive two doses of the vaccine. Once in the year, the second dose around the age of four to six years.
