AT & T, culinary point fingers after the HBO outage

It's been less than six months since HBO (and the rest of what's now called WarnerMedia) has joined AT & T, and we now have our first litigation in good faith. AT & T and Dish have both blamed HBO and Cinemax for not using the services of Dish Network and Sling TV in their first 40 years of history.

Dish cited the DOJ's case against Time Warner, who is now waiting for a call, and said he was pleased with "baseball type arbitration" to resolve the dispute. On the side of AT & T, he stated in a statement made to Reuters that "the Department of Justice worked closely with Dish as part of its unsuccessful pursuit to block our merger" and claimed that the collaboration was continuing with a "tactical decision" by Dish to give up on HBO.

WarnerMedia claims to have offered to extend the previous contract during negotiations, but Dish refused. Whatever the truth, this quarrel between the media giants will not bring the chain back to pay customers until the parties have found a solution to the problem, and as this case is still pending before the courts in December, it could be long.
