TYRONE, Pa. –
A school official in Pennsylvania said that a school bus driver had stopped at a stop to find a seriously injured student, apparently injured by a vehicle while he was there. was waiting for the bus.
Superintendent of the Tyrone Area School District, Cathy Harlow, said in a Facebook post that the hit and run had apparently occurred before school Thursday morning.

The bus driver found the 7-year-old boy dead by the roadside near his home in Franklin Township. Harlow said the driver had called 911 and stayed with him until the first responders arrived.
Authorities said he was crushed by a slow vehicle.
"The evidence showed that the child was crushed at a slow speed," tweeted the Pennsylvania G Police Troop. "A search warrant was obtained for a vehicle that was in the area at the time, and the driver was interrogated."

Harlow said that advice is provided to students and staff at Tyrone Elementary School.
"Our community is truly afflicted by this terrible loss, keep the family in your thoughts and prayers," Harlow said in a message.
