Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he's personally excited about the company's plans for the buyout, which he describes as "a truly futuristic cyberpunk".

During a interview on the podcast Recode DecodeMusk talked about upcoming products that Tesla is designing, including an updated Roadster, a semitrailer truck and a pickup truck.

"It will be like a" Blade Runner "pickup, a really futuristic cyberpunk," said Musk. "It'll be great, it'll be great, it'll be overwhelming, it'll stop my heart."

Musk said that he did not know if a lot of people would want to buy the truck.

"It's something I wanted to do for a long time," he said. "If only a small number of people like this truck, I guess we'll make a more traditional one in the future, but that's the thing I'm personally most excited about."

Musk touted the electric pickup in June, saying it would have "crazy" features, including a two-engine all-wheel drive and a "suspension that adapts dynamically to the load". Musk said the truck would also be parked in parallel.

Last quarter, Tesla made a rare profit as the company began to reap the benefits of increased production of its model vehicle.
