NEW YORK – Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson revived their rivalry at today's UFC 232 press conference, and "Bones" did not get the better of "The Mauler" until December's rematch.

After an exciting battle "Fight of the Year" at UFC 165 in September 2013, won by Jones (21-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC), the former champion will hand Gustafsson (18- 4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) Lightweight title soon to be vacant in December 29 stunt at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and aired on television following preliminary games broadcast on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

This memorable encounter took place many years ago and, once lost revenge, it will now take place at UFC 232. In their first promotional tasks for the event, Jones and Gustafsson clashed .

"I did not train as hard as I should have," said Jones about the competitive nature of the first fight. "I won so many fights. I was a wild guy, and I was still winning, and that even caught me. This has definitely caught me.

Gustafsson took umbrage with Jones' position on the fight.

"Excuses, excuses only," said Gustafsson. "That's the only thing I hear. That's all I hear. I beat you once, I can beat you again.

Jones fought back on the Swede.

"If my excuse is that I have not trained enough, what is your excuse for losing?" Said Jones. "We fought closely, but were you also scammed in the fight (Daniel Cormier)? And Anthony Johnson, did you beat him? And Phil Davis, did you beat him too?

Gustafsson has the feeling of having won the fight at UFC 165, three turns out of two, and the judges were wrong. He feels passionately so far that he should have raised his hand and said he would leave no doubt about revenge.

"That's where you're wrong – I did not lose, Jon," Gustafsson said. "We all know that I have not lost.

"I am very lucky to have a third time fighting for the belt. I fight Jon, it's the biggest fight of my life. I respected him too much the first time we fought. I will not give him the respect I gave him the first time. I will show the world that you can beat the man who has never been beaten. "

He is not happy with Jones that Gustafsson offered him the most competitive fight of his career. He admits he did not take things seriously at UFC 165 but said that it would be another story at UFC 232 and that he intended to win permanently.

"The goal is to finish this fight, and that's what I'm going to do," Jones said. "I'm going to finish this fight."
