Dallas Mavericks: How did the Mavs get to 2-7? Let's count the means after the embarrassing defeat of Dallas against the Knicks

It's one thing to get beat in the NBA. It happens unless you are the warriors.

It's another thing to get out of work.

The Mavericks were overwhelmed, outmatched and overwhelmed on Friday night by a team led by a two-way contract player.

At the risk of running out of cyberspace, we will try to review the long list of Mavericks problems as they look at a record of 2-7, a series of six consecutive defeats and may have to start facing up to facts that they are not very good.

At least not now.

The list

– When they go home at night, they probably can not stop thinking about what's wrong. After all, they can not stop anything or anyone. The Knicks shot 55% and that means in nine games this season, Maverick's opponents are shooting 50% of the field together. It's ridiculous.

– Dennis Smith Jr. and Luka Doncic have not yet figured out how to coexist. Smith had six turnovers on Friday and Doncic four. Both fired well, but that match did not end in an excellent attack. They both have problems on the defensive side.

– When Wesley Matthews was down, the Mavericks were under 20 years old. It's a worst season for the shooting guardian. It's a plus-five for the season, which is mind-boggling given the fact that the Mavericks are 2-7 and have been outperformed by an average of six points per game.

–OK, about this defense. The Mavericks allowed Allonzo Trier – one of the two-way G-League players of the Knicks to have shouted loudly – to score 23 points in 24 minutes.

–You want more? Mitchell Robinson, who has never played at a university match, has 13 points and has taken over DeAndre Jordan.

–Always more? Damyean Dotson, another Knick under the radar, had 11 points and eight rebounds and was playing an excellent defense. The Knicks were over-18 when he was on the floor.

Add all this together and you get a hell of nasty loss. Nonconformists have every right to be embarrassed by it.

And they can sit on it until Tuesday, the day of Washington's visit. And by the way, wizards could be even more lost now than non-conformists. They are 1-7 after being beaten by Oklahoma City on Friday.
