Two employees at an Amazon warehouse in Baltimore died Friday night after part of the building collapsed during a storm, an executive head of the company said Saturday morning. Amazon on Twitter.
The incident occurred in an installation that Amazon calls BWI5, a building called "sorting center" located in the southeast of the city. Workers at Amazon facilities such as this organization order Amazon orders to prepare them for distribution partners such as the United States Postal Service.
Dave Clark, Amazon's senior operations manager who oversees the company's global warehouse network, posted the news on Twitter on Saturday morning.
Update- Last night, bad weather affected one of our facilities in Baltimore, causing 2 deaths. Thanks to the emergency response teams who worked all night. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by yesterday's tragic event.

The Baltimore Sun reported that workers had been killed when a 50-foot wall collapsed during a storm on Friday night. It is not yet clear whether the workers were employed by Amazon or by a trucking company, the newspaper said.
The incident comes just days after the entry into force of Amazon's new $ 15 basic hourly wage for all warehouse workers in the United States and the United Kingdom. Politicians, including Senator Bernie Sanders, have criticized Amazon for the compensation of its warehouse employees and for their working conditions.
Last year, Amazon was fined for the deaths of two warehouse employees killed by accident at separate facilities.
