A young couple from Woking said they saw the moment the slide collapsed.

The husband, who did not wish to be named, said he and his wife were taking care of their children when they were 15 to 20 years old.

He told Sky News: "We are approaching we saw the side [of the slide] had to go to half way or three-quarters of the way up.

"We heard kids screaming and then saw them begin to fall off the side."

He said some of them were able to avoid exacerbating any potential injuries.

As the husband called the ambulance, his first aid has been trained to help parents and children.

CPR were not true.

He said the scene was "very calm," adding: "It was awful, but it was not a disaster where everyone was screaming. There were kids crying but it was calm. "
