The best sketches and moments

The column missed the return of Seth Meyers to Saturday Night Live in mid-October, which is disappointing, apart from Alec Baldwin, who is not cold and has not been cold-weathered, this is the best episode of this season to date. Previous guest hosts, Awkwafina and Adam Driver, have certainly managed to put spectacular pieces, but their respective episodes have failed to gather the energy needed to achieve the 93 minutes of the traditional race.

This has less to do with Awkwafina and Driver, but more with creator Lorne Michaels and co-authors of season 44, Colin Jost, Michael Che and Kent Sublette, who have continued (and have largely failed) the political comedy. Not only has the political satire of the program been lacking lately, but former cast member Taran Killam recently said that Michaels went out of his way to appease Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. has not finished yet. SNL no favor either.

Step into the shoes of Jonah Hill, a comedic actor turned director, who was the emcee of Studio 8H for the fifth time this weekend. It's a good episode overall, even if the reasoning is at best circumstantial. Perhaps it was the return of fan favorite Adam Grossman or Pete Davidson's increasingly public (and problematic) cast and Ariana Grande's canceled pledge. All we know was good just because of the three week break between episodes.

Five-player club greets Jonah Hill with a warning

Speaking of breaks, the disgraced break actor (and former SNL guest host) Louis C.K between revelations of sexual misconduct and his return to stand-up have sown consternation among fans and critics alike. From where a timely joke and well placed in the skit of Hill's "Five-Timers Monologue", in which Tina Fey, Candice Bergen and Drew Barrymore respond to the implicit comment of the host "I want to camouflage everything from next »at Louis. . This is good news for the Five-Timers gag, which Hill happily plays for Fey, Bergen and Barrymore.
