Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, was invited by the queen to spend Christmas with the royal family in Sandringham.

Doria, 62, the only member of Meghan's family who attended her wedding with Prince Harry at Windsor Castle in May, was invited to testify as a sign of respect.

According to an article in the Sunday Express, a source said it was a "very thoughtful gesture" towards the pregnant Duchess.

The move is somewhat unprecedented as a member outside the Royal Family has not been invited to stay in the Norfolk Estate during the previous Christmas period.

Kate Middleton's family has already joined the royal family at the church on Christmas morning, but stayed at nearby Anmer Hall rather than at Sandringham.

A violent troublemaker repeatedly hit a paramedic after being placed in an ambulance - crushing him against the edge of the van. He threatened the police and paramedics and warned them that Paramedic had her face crushed against the side of the ambulance by the man she was treating

The source said the Queen's invitation was respectful and recognized that Meghan would spend Christmas in England away from her family.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace has so far refused to comment.

After weeks of drama surrounding Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, and members of his extended and separated family in the United States, Doria was commended for her composed and graceful appearance at the royal wedding.

Mr. Markle had to walk his daughter in the alley, but he retired at the last minute after it appeared that he had made paparazzi shots during the previous days .

He later stated that he had apologized to Harry and Meghan and had denied staging blows for money, insisting that they had been taken in order to "change his image".

Doria joined her daughter at an outdoor reception at Kensington Palace in September to mark the launch of a charity cookbook aimed at people affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

The Duchess, who collaborated with the Grenfell activists for the book "Together", said it had been a "work of love".

The same day, Doria introduced herself to guests as "Meg's mother".

She would have said she was crazy about pride, Meghan helping to prepare the guests' lunch.

Meghan and Harry recently returned to the UK after their gigantic Commonwealth tour and will spend their first Christmas together as a husband and wife in December.
