Get used to this: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan. The most interesting thing about power rankings is perhaps that there is a good chance that it does not change much at the top. None of the top four play the rest of the regular season. Although this is not a rarity, it suggests a lack of movement – and possible support set early November for College Football Playoff.
Look what we saw last weekend.
- Alabama has made the biggest statement of the season in LSU skunking.
- God, Clemson has averaged 60 points in the last four games.
- Notre Dame has achieved what should be her biggest test at Northwestern.
- Michigan looks like the best Big Ten team. More than that, it seems better than the state of Ohio.
But things are always changing, is not it? Georgia holds the key for two SEC teams to enter (beating Alabama in a January rematch now assured). The Big 12 and Pac-12 are outdoors.
