It's happening boys and girls – the Spice Girls get together and go on tour!
The announcement was announced early Monday morning via a brand new Twitter account apparently created to publish the big news. The four band members – Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Chisholm – have not been touring together for nearly a decade and have not performed together for years.
They will be without Victoria Beckham, who abstains from joining the tour to focus on her fashion line, according to British media The Sun, which had originally made headlines.
She wished the girls good luck in an official statement saying, "Being part of the Spice Girls has been an extremely important part of my life and I wish my daughters a lot of love and fun on their return tour. they will put on an incredible show and the fantastic fans of the past and the present will have fun! "
The group posted a nice video on social media, in which they discuss in a fun way about the clothes that they wore for the ad.
"We are going on tour," says Halliwell. "They need to see him to believe him."
The four ladies then join in harmony with one of their classic hits, "Spice Up Your Life".
In the official press release, Halliwell added, "I am very excited, together we are celebrating the power of girls with our fans and the next generation, and all are welcome, stay well, it will be fun."
The big news was announced early Monday with a tweet that said: "Our show continues shortly … # FriendshipNeverEnds", another nod to a classic song.
Melanie Brown also posted a video back on Instagram, writing: "To follow …… yippeee @spicegirls."
It seems that the name of the tour will be simply "Friendship Never Ends".
Tickets will go on sale later this week!
