A Redfield woman was announced Monday as the winner of the biggest lottery prize in Iowa.

Lerynne West, 51, said she was considering "buying a new car and spending long holidays – or more."

West has been announced as the winner of the Powerball jackpot won with a Redfield ticket will be presented at a press conference at 11 am at the Iowa lottery headquarters in Clive.

One of the two winning number tickets, which came out of Powerball's $ 688 million jackpot on October 27, came from the town of 800 near Des Moines. The other ticket was sold in New York.

The pair matched numbers 8, 12, 13, 19 and 27 and Powerball 4. The price will be split between the two: an annual payment of $ 343.9 million or a lump sum of $ 198.1 million.

Casey's general store, where the ticket was sold, will receive $ 10,000 from the Iowa lottery, said Mary Neubauer, spokeswoman for the Iowa lottery.

Lerynne West, 51, of Redfield, went to Casey's home in Redfield to get some pizza because she was hungry. She did not remember her Powerball tickets until Sunday.

His sister called him later and told him that a person from Iowa had won the Powerball. West left his tickets in his sister's truck. Later, she learned online that she had obtained the jackpot. "I thought I did something wrong."

She told her sister to "drive slowly" with the tickets at home.
