A book by Stephen Colbert makes fun of Hurricane Florence from Trump – Quartzy

Donald Trump has been a boon to political books. So much so that a rather special sub-genre – the gagging books of the artists who run the president – is booming.

Earlier this year, late-night host John Oliver and his team published a book on Mike Pence's family rabbit, Marlon Bundo. In July, Trevor Noah's program published a book featuring Trump's biggest tweets. Now, Stephen Colbert's staff is joining the party with Who is this boat? Comments that do not help in the aftermath of a hurricane.

Colbert announced the The late show Last night (September 28th), Simon & Schuster would publish the book, which mocks Trump's merciless response to Hurricane Florence, noting that proceeds from the sale would be used to fund disaster relief in the Carolinas.

Last week, Colbert read the book, consisting entirely of Trump quotes. One, "At least, you have a good boat," was addressed to a resident who had ended up with a yacht stranded in his yard (paywall) in a ravaged part of Carolina. North.

Originally, the book was not meant for publication, but saw how much such gags were real hits …A day in the life of Marlon Bundo is the third best-selling book of the year on Amazon – it's not a bad bet for Simon & Schuster to sell real copies. The book is now available for pre-order and will only be available on November 6, but it is currently number 2 on Amazon's bestseller list, which is updated hourly.
