Bristol, Tennessee – A police report released Thursday indicates that a man from Bristol had to defend himself against his father by passing it with a lawn mower.
Witnesses told investigators that Ferguson had attempted to attack his son with a chainsaw while the victim was mowing the yard in a residence off Highway 421.
Ferguson was found on the scene, bleeding to the head and leg.
Douglas Ferguson, 76, was charged this week with attempted second-degree murder related to the June 28 meeting, according to the statement from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.
He is in jail without bail for further violation of the probation charge. A bail of $ 25,000 was issued for attempted murder, according to the report.
