A British man would be detained in the United Arab Emirates since May after being accused of espionage.
Matthew Hedges, 31, a PhD student at Durham University, was arrested at Dubai airport on May 5, the UK Times reported. He was kept in solitary confinement since May and would have received only one phone call with his mother, a visit from his wife Daniela Tejada and two visits by British Foreign Office officials. .
Hedges traveled to the UAE on a research trip as part of an "interview with sources on the country's security policies," the Times reported.
