With Toys R Us freshly buried, Amazon can perceive a hole to fill the hearts of children.
The online retailer plans to send millions of holiday toy catalogs, according to Bloomberg sources. Toys R Us, officially closed last week was prized for its endless aisles and catalogs, which inspired children to nest toys they dreamed of. For parents, these catalogs were at the same time a guide, a relief, a threat and a burden.
Amazon will send catalogs to homes and distribute them in Whole Foods stores, according to Bloomberg's report Wednesday. Amazon bought Whole Foods last year in a snap at the remaining power of at least some brick-and-mortar stores. Apparently, he did not see the same potential in a toy store.
Amazon did not immediately return a request for comment.
