FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – The fishermen 's police investigate after a child found a gun and fired a shot inside Ikea.

It arrived around 14 hours. Monday at Ikea located at 11400 Ikea Way in Fishers, a northern suburb of Indianapolis.

An Ikea client sits on a couch, where his firearm dropped from his pants and sits in the vanity. He got up from the couch and continued walking in the store without realizing that his gun was gone, according to the sergeant. Tom Weger with the Fisher Police Department.

The children sat on the same sofa, found the gun and one of them pulled the trigger, firing a shot but not injuring anyone, Weger said.

The evidence technicians and investigators were on the scene. Weger stated that the witness statements and evidence had been collected and would be forwarded to the Hamilton County Attorney.

Weger added that it is now time for parents to talk about what to do if a child finds a gun. Two steps are essential: do not touch it and go find and tell an adult.

At 16. On Monday, the scene had been cleaned up and the store had resumed operations.

An Ikea spokesman provided a statement on the incident, saying the company had a non-weapons policy and that Ikea employees were taking the measures they were trained to ensure the safety of customers ":
