HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – In Canada, a surgeon went beyond helping to help one of his smaller patients.
Eight-year-old Jackson McKie had been operated on last week, but he had a very important, even life-saving, request from his doctor before falling asleep after his anesthesia. While Dr. Daniel McNeely was repairing Jackson, he could also operate on his Little Baby bear, the BBC reported.
Jackson has a brain disorder called hydrocephalus, or a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid, reported the CBC. McNeely has been Jackson's neurosurgeon since birth.
McNeely posted pictures of the bear surgery on his Twitter account, asking, "How could I say no?"

McNeely explained that Little Baby had a tear under his arm and gave him an oxygen mask for his "surgery".
Jackson's father, Rick McKie, told the CBC that Jackson and Little Baby were both in their hospital bed after their intervention.
