A Cleveland Police Officer in a stable state after being shot in the Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cleveland police officer is about to be operated on Saturday after responding to a request early in the morning for shots fired in the Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood in the city, and was shot repeatedly, according to the police.

The police are always looking for the person or persons involved.

Fourth District officers received a call around 4:20 pm Saturday in the 2600 block of 121st Street East about shots, Chief Calvin Williams said.

"This mission quickly turned into a call to a male coup," Williams said. "When the officers approached where we are, shells were fired at our officers."

A bullet went through the door of the police vehicle and hit an officer in the leg, Williams said. The agent, who has not yet been identified, was removed from the scene and taken by EMS to university hospitals.

"While other police officers arrived to contain the scene, we approached the residents and found that there was another victim of a shootout that had also been taken to the hospital. by EMS, "said Williams.

The police did not reveal the state of health of the other victim.

Members of the officer's family, along with other police officers, are with him at the hospital, said Major Brandon Kutz.

"I already spoke with him this morning," said Kutz. "He was alert and talked to people before he had surgery, so we have a lot of hope.

"We simply ask the community to keep it in your thoughts and prayers and we appreciate it."

The police are looking for the person (s) responsible and asking for help from the community.

"If anyone has any information, call our communication center and give us this information," Williams said. "As you can see, we have a ton of resources here and we will find that person eventually."

Williams also asked the shooter or shooters to surrender. "It will be easier for you and this community," he said. "We will not tolerate that and we will find that person."
