If you have been slow to put the house away, let it serve as an incentive.
Harold and Tina Ehrenberg, a couple from Mandeville, Louisiana, were cleaning up for Thanksgiving guests when they found a lottery ticket they had bought months before. It turned out that its value was $ 1.8 million.
"We have family coming to town for Thanksgiving, so I was cleaning the house and I found some lottery tickets on my nightstand that we had not checked," said Tina Ehrenberg in a statement issued by the Louisiana Lottery.
It's a good thing the couple found the ticket when they did. The draw took place on June 6th. Their only winning ticket.
If they had waited two more weeks, they would have had the zipper; the window for claiming the price – 180 days – would have closed.
The two men said they could not believe their good fortune.
"I've called the hotline winning numbers again and again," said Tina Ehrenberg.
Harold Ehrenberg added, "We checked the numbers again and again!"
After tax, the couple earned $ 1.2 million, which they plan to retire.
"We do not intend to buy anything crazy or make great trips," said Tina Ehrenberg.
"The most fun," added her husband, "will deposit this check."
