FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Princess Cruises ship The Royal Princess returned to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday morning a few days after the death of an American aboard the ship.

Local authorities in Aruba and the FBI are investigating the death of this 52-year-old woman aboard the 3,600 passenger ship. They said that the woman, who was not identified, had died of "unnatural causes".

The Aruba-based news website, Diario, reported that the woman had fallen from the Princess Royal's top deck on a lifeboat after fighting with a man. Passengers said the man was choking him before his fall, the website reported.

The cruise ship officials stated that the woman was traveling with her husband but that her husband was not considered a suspect.

The passengers stated that they had been informed of the woman's death by the ship's sound system.

"It was 3:20 and we looked out the balcony and we could see the security intervention team following the bridge to where the lifeboat was located "said passenger Stu Klotzle.
