CHICAGO – A dangerous heat wave will have more than half of the stuffy country during the holidays of July 4th. Temperatures near and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit combine with high humidity to pose serious health risks.
The National Weather Service recalled Friday that the heat kills more people each year than tornadoes, lightning and floods.
In Chicago, the open spaces are not so great – the heat is so strong that officials warn the public to be wary.
"Safety is everyone's responsibility, so remember to stay hydrated and watch our neighbors and family. "Thermometer readings are in the 90s across the Midwest, but like any dog knows, when you add in moisture, it actually feels like 105 or even 110 degrees." Overnight, depressions in the 1980s will not cool anything.

The heat index is three-digit in Kansas City, Des Moines and even Minnesota – where the Minneapolis Star Tribune said that State is now like "Saudi Arabia with lakes." The Denver temperature on Thursday was a record 105.
As the scorcher expands to the east, New York will cook this week -end and Vermont also goes up to the border with the Canada.
There are at least 80 outdoor activities planned in Chicago this weekend, ranging from concerts to rallies to fireworks, which means that thousands of people will try to sweat.
