A dead man in an accident involving a stolen car in southeast Houston

One person died as a result of an accident involving a stolen vehicle during a car theft, Houston police said.

The car crashed in front of a dealership near Gulf Freeway and Sagedowne around 2:30 am Just 45 minutes before, four men had taken the car under the threat of rifle navigation block 3300, about 1:30, police said.

We do not know what caused the driver, but he lost control of the exit ramp to Gulf Freeway. The car hit a small post, crossed the service road, several other posts, and then crashed against a larger lighting post, according to the Houston Police Department.

The stolen car, which also struck a car of a parked dealer, was crushed in the crash.


The front passenger died on the scene and at least one other person in the car was taken to the hospital via Life Flight. The conditions of the other two passengers are unknown.

Police found a firearm in the vehicle, said Lieutenant Whitman Liu.
