A Dolphins player celebrates on Instagram after being cut by a team, claimed by his rival

Being released by an NFL team is not usually a festive motive, but do not tell it to former Dolphins defensive forward Jordan Phillips.

Phillips wanted so much out of Miami that he celebrated on Instagram this week after the Dolphins officially released on Tuesday.

"Free finally, finally free," wrote Phillips.

The 26-year-old also made sure to note how happy he was to leave the team.

"This is no longer a Miami dolphin, I wish good luck to my team brothers, but I could not be happier to be out of there," wrote Phillips. "I'm in my bag, do not take it as a personal matter, sometimes you have to put your future in your hands and live with it."

Phillips was with the Dolphins since 2015, when the team gave him the second round pick in the NFL draft. In the first three seasons of his career, Phillips had a serious playing time. From 2015 to 2017, he played in 44 games, starting 26 times.

However, things got worse during the training camp when he lost his first job. Not only did he lose his job, but during the first four weeks of the 2018 season, his playing time began to decline. In the 38-7 defeat of the Dolphins against the Patriots on Sunday, Phillips played the least amount of blows among the active defensive linemen in the Miami roster, which he did not really enjoy.

Adam Gase, coach of the Dolphins, was questioned about Phillips' play time on Monday, and apparently it was part of the team's game plan for the Patriots game.

"There is a reason we are doing this," said Gase, via ESPN.com. "There's a reason we're subverting our team against this team, and it's no secret we do it, no matter who Kris Kocurek (the defensive line coach) is. ), that's what we want to do, re do. "

Phillips obviously did not like the game plan – nor anything about the Dolphins – which could explain why he was so happy to be released.

The good news for Phillips is that he is going to have two chances to recover. The defensive tackle was claimed on waivers Wednesday, which means he'll face the Dolphins twice (Week 13, Week 17), provided Buffalo keeps him on the roster for the rest of the season.
