The woman accused of having run fatally on two Park Slope infants in March and having caused the loss of her unborn child to the Broadway actress, l 'La,,,,,,,,,, one of the mothers of it, died Tuesday of an apparent suicide, police sources told the Post.
Dorothy Bruns, 44, was found dead at her home in Staten Island by a friend late Tuesday afternoon, sources said. Prescription drug bottles and a suicide note were found nearby.
Bruns suffered from multiple sclerosis and was prone to epileptic seizures.
The doctors ordered him not to drive but drove on March 5 and crossed an intersection of Park Slope, killing Joshua Lew, 1, and Abigail Blumenstein, 4.
The two mothers of the children were also affected and the pregnant mother of Abigail, the star awarded by Tony, Ruthie Ann Miles, later lost her baby close to birth.
At trial, Bruns was sentenced to 15 years in jail for manslaughter, criminal negligence, reckless endangerment, assault and reckless conduct. She was released on bail of $ 75,000 in September.
During her last court appearance on Oct. 3, she turned down an offer of 5 to 15 years in prison for manslaughter charges. She was scheduled to appear in court on November 20.
