George Springer's home race in Friday night's first game of the American League division series was cheap for the Cleveland Indians.

It also cost hundreds of dollars to a fan.

But it is a check that he will write with pleasure.

Astros fan Eddie Flores told fans around him at Minute Maid Park that Springer would start the fifth run with a home run – and if he was right, he would buy everyone in the beer section.

Then, the 3-2 pitcher of Indian supporter Corey Kluber that Springer sent flying for a 3-0 lead.

"I love my team, guy," Eddie Flores told the Houston Chronicle. "I knew Springer was going to hit one and I wanted everyone to know, I called him."

Flores told Houston's ABC13 that he had spent "about $ 500" to reflect the beer he had bought after Jose Altuve had made his own test.

"We bought beer for seven rows in a row," said Flores. "Then it was back to back, so I bought seven rows of beer."

The Houston Chronicle reported that Flores had bought "more than $ 300 worth of beer" after Springer's homerun and that the salesman had only enough beer for rows two to nine.

"I mean, I was more excited about the home run, but the beer added a bit," said Charles Adams, one of the lucky fans, at ABC13. "I mean, our section went to banana."

The Astros won 7-2 and play the second game on Saturday afternoon.
