Pandemonium erupted in the seconds following Conor McGregor-Khabib Nurmagomedov's bout against UFC 229. Moments after his victory, Nurmagomedov jumped from the Octagon to fight in the stands. While this was happening, some of his team jumped into the Octagon to attack McGregor.
Lost in all this confusion was a mysterious man in a white jacket who snuck into the octagon. The man would have jumped into the Octagon during the fight, glanced at McGregor, then returned to his seat.
How do we know it happened? Because Daniel Cormier saw it happen. He told Ariel Helwani of ESPN that he had seen the man enter the octagon and speak to McGregor.
Cormier begins telling the story at 13:58:

"It's the craziest story. There is a guy behind me, he is wearing this beautiful jacket. (Something) McGregor. So he stands behind me and he says, "Who are you in the fight?" This guy is absolutely not in the game, right? So I'm going, "Yeah, I'll go to Khabib." So after the fight, when we all jumped off the rail, I'm like in the octagon pushing, and the guy likes to watch Conor. He looked like a fan, he looked like a fan who jumped in the rail when everyone else was doing it and headed for the octagon – it was like watching Conor. I
(later) asked my wife: "Salina, what happened with this guy, was he with McGregor?" She goes away, "Daniel, after making sure that Conor was fine, he had just sat down in his seat." I swear to God. He just climbed the rail and went back to his seat. I thought, "What's going on in the world ?! What has just happened in the world !? It was crazy. How did this guy find himself in the octagon, then he checked that Conor was fine, then he went back to sit down.
A man named David Martin claims to be the person in Cormier's story. He posted a video on social media that supposedly showed it in the Octagon.

Martin also spoke to Nesbitt about this decision, although his story contains more details. He claims that he also calmed Cormier before talking to McGregor.
The details provided by Martin seem almost too crazy to believe. Did a fan actually dissuade an MMA fighter from sneaking into a ring and talking to another before returning calmly to his seat?
Normally, we would say that there is no way. But in this case, at least part of the story was confirmed by Cormier. If only the version of the story of Cormier is true, the whole remains rather wild.
