The best field story in MLB playoffs was, without a doubt, the story of the Oakland Athletics fan who had his beer thrown in the wild at Yankee Stadium. The launch of the beer has been terrible, but everything that has happened since is an example of the kind of humanity we do not see enough these days.
The saga took another comforting turn Tuesday night. The two guys went to the fourth game of the American League division series together at Yankee Stadium. It's safe to say that it's been a week in their lives.
John Spencer, A's fan, tweeted Monday that Chris, the Yankees fan, invited him to match 4. That comes after they arranged for the beer draw and celebrated together last week. .
My new friend Chris (of the beer producers' fame) has tickets to attend Game 4 of the Yankees / Red Sox tomorrow and has invited me to accompany him. I figured I might as well stir my jersey A's / Chavez, right? If you are in the game come say hello.

Cut4 caught Chris and John in the game. Chris bought John's ticket, but John was not ready to fully support the Yankees in the playoffs.
Spencer posted a selfie in the game with his new boyfriend in the playoffs and had a simple message: "Make friends, not enemies."
If these two people can make friends, be forgiven and even attend a baseball game together, perhaps the rest of the population can learn something about growth beyond our mistakes and the things that divide us .
