For the majority, Avengers: Infinity War is an incredible feat, bringing together the links of eighteen films to form a coherent story that marked the beginning of a meta-narrative of a decade. In the scene of intermediate credits for Avengers: the era of Ultron the glove appeared again, this time in the possession of Thanos in his moment "I will do it myself". This has created a conflict because how does Thanos have the glove if he is in Odin's safe? This problem has been resolved in Thor: Ragnarok by Hela explaining like a fake. But this third appearance created the problem for Avengers: Infinity War when one learns that Thanos has made Eitri to make him the real glove. The explanation of all this, according to the user of Reddit CGS20, is that the concept of the weapon existed before the quest for Thanos. Thanos did not command an original weapon, but asked for one based on an already existing plan. And who first designed the Infinity Gauntlet? Why none other than Odin himself.
Thor: Ragnarok Thor and the audience were enlightened by the fact that Odin was not always the sweet old, casual father that we saw in the first two days. Thor films, as he was once a conqueror with a love for war and little respect for life. According to the theory, Odin also searched the stones and asked Nidavellir's dwarves to create a Gauntlet replica or demonstration unit. When he turned a new page and overlaid his warlord past, he ranged the fake Gauntlet in his safe, perhaps in memory of the power he had once sought and the destructions caused by his desire. That would have disappointed Hela, thus explaining how she knew it was a fake.
Another Reddit user actually exposed this theory, offering the possibility that Odin abandons his quest for stone while he was not willing to sacrifice Hela for the Soul Stone, thus revealing himself sweet and unworthy to reign in his eyes.
All in all, this is a really convincing theory that fits well with what we learned about Odin in Thor: Ragnarok and helps explain why Odin had a scythe in his vault. What this theory does not really clarify is the Avengers: the era of Ultron mid-generic scene where Thanos decides to take things, and the real Gauntlet, in his hands. However, this too has a workaround. On the one hand, we do not know how long Nidavellir was plunged into the dark or when Eitri created the Infinity Gauntlet for Thanos. In addition, you could say that the mid-credits scene for Age of Ultron does not occur in the same period as the rest of the movie.
What's cool with all this is that in 2011, the glove in Odin's vault Thor was probably just a fun Easter egg, with a "we'll talk about it later" mentality as to how Thanos would eventually get it. The same goes for the Age of Ultron stage credits. However, the story plans change over time and discrepancies appear, but none of them is so bad that intelligent thinking can explain them.
